Good morning. Guess what season is coming? Softball! And there is all good news surrounding the Kentucky softball team. We have two athletes with preseason honors, and one was named No. 10 in America. See who they are below!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Starting Strong. Two softball players were selected to the Preseason All-Southeastern Conference Team— Erin Coffel and Stephanie Schoonover.

Last season, Coffel had a nation-leading 64 walks drawn, hit .440, hit 19 home runs and joined Kayla Kowalik as the first-ever two-time National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association All-American in Kentucky softball history. Coffel was also named the No. 10 player in America in the D1Softball Top-100 Player Rankings for 2024.

Schoonover threw 12 complete games and had eight shutouts last season. Her overall record was 12-2 with a 2.01 ERA in 27 appearances. She had a team-leading 160 strikeouts in 114.2 innings of work.

🔼 Driving Lane. Laney Frye has competed in many different tours and championships in her career, and she begins a new one today. Frye is competing in her first LPGA Tour event at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Bradenton Country Club. She will tee off at 9:04 a.m. on hole one.

Frye received the tournament’s sponsor exemption, is the lone amateur in the field and is one of the 15 rookies competing. She is currently the 12th-ranked woman amateur in the nation.

Best of the Best. Raena Worley is keeping the bar high! The fifth-year senior on the gymnastics team has remained No. 1 in the nation on bars for a few weeks now.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Top 💯. Kentucky football has two athletes who were selected to the ESPN Top 100 CFB Players of the 2023 season. Today, we will focus on Maxwell Hairston. Hairston was picked at No. 97 in the ranking. The sophomore had 53 solo tackles and five interceptions. Overall, he had an 89% tackle success rate.
