🔼 Hall of Famers. Two former University of Kentucky football players have been named to the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame: Jerry Blanton and Ermal Allen. Blanton was a defensive tackle from 1974-1977. He was the first true freshman to start a varsity football game at Kentucky. Allen was a quarterback from 1939-1941. He guided the Cats to three consecutive winning seasons, while also lettering in basketball, golf and track. Allen was an assistant coach for the team in1946 and from 1948-1961.
At the Pro Level. Ermal Allen also played in the NFL. He played in 1947 and coached from 1962-83.

🔼 New Cat. The softball team signed Hannah Christian to the 2027 roster. Christian is an outfielder who just completed her sophomore season at Southern Mississippi. She started 57 games with the Golden Eagles last season. Last year alone, she had a .383 batting average, 38 runs, 11 doubles, five home runs, 43 RBI and 22 walks.
