National Team of the Week

Baseball player Braxton Van Cleave has been named to Baseball America’s National Team of the Week. Over three games, he went 7-for-14 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs while striking out just once.

🔼 Welcome! The women’s basketball team added Ajša Sivka to the 2026-27 roster. The 6’4” guard is from Slovenia. She was selected 10th in the 2025 WNBA Draft to the Chicago Sky but remined in Europe to represent the National Slovenia Team in the 2025 FIBA Women’s European Basketball Championship. In three games at the EuroBasket Women’s Championship last year, she averaged 7.7 points per game, 50.0 percent shooting, 2.7 rebounds per game and 1.0 assists per game.

🔼 More to Play. The men’s golf team was selected for the NCAA Tournament. Kentucky will play in the Bermuda Run Regional from May 18-20. It is one of six regional sites across the country. This marks the first NCAA nod for UK since 2022. In all, 81 teams and 45 individuals were selected. The low five teams and low individual on a non-advancing team from each region will qualify for a spot in the championship finals.

Better Than The Average. Kentucky had an Academic Progress Rate score above the national overall APR of 986. Fourteen of the 20 UK team scores exceeded the national average in their sports.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

New to the Court. The women’s basketball team signed Ayanna Patterson. Patterson is a 6’2” forward. She will join as a redshirt junior in the 2026-27 season. She spent the last four seasons at UConn, but played two of the four seasons because of back-to-back injured seasons. Patterson appeared in 30 games and made one start for UConn in 2025-26. In just five minutes per game, she totaled 52 points – on 51.5 percent from the field – and 42 rebounds.
