Big Blue Brew 12/15: 2024 Football Schedule

Today, we're looking at the 2024 football schedule that just came out.

🔵 The Official Daily Newsletter For Kentucky Athletics

Good morning. While we look forward to tomorrow’s men’s basketball game against North Carolina, it’s also a football-filled Brew today because we’ve had a lot of news on that front this week. We get to see our seniors play for what may be their last collegiate game ever, like Ray Davis.

What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Football Fever. Football isn’t even over yet for this season as the team heads to the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, but we are so ready for next season. The 2024 schedule just dropped, and the team has eight home games, four away games and two bye weeks.

Tickets are up for grabs, but only if you are interested in season tickets. Season ticket holders for 2023 will receive a renewal invoice in their My UK Account early in 2024. If you are looking to become a season ticket holder in 2024, you can place a deposit.

🔼 14 Days Away. I don’t know what’s better, Christmas or the Bowl game coming up. The Wildcats will play their eighth straight Bowl game this season on Friday, Dec. 29. We are one of only eight teams in the nation and one of only three teams in the SEC with at least eight consecutive Bowl game appearances. The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl takes place at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. The Cats will take on Clemson at noon that day. Be sure to buy your tickets to the game before they sell out!

🔼 Season Debut? Will we see Ugonna Onyenso on the court this weekend? Jack Givens shares his thoughts on what will go down at Saturday’s men’s basketball game against North Carolina. Givens wants Kentucky to have a strong defense under the basket because Armando Bacot has some quick moves there. With both teams ranked in the top 15, this game is going to be a good one to watch.

🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Commencement Time. Many student-athletes are switching out their uniform for a cap and gown this December as they get ready to graduate.

Today’s question— how many Wildcats are graduating in December?

🔵 ONE BIG THING

More than a Building. The Kentucky track and field program has a new facility on its hands. The Jim Green Track and Field Center opened Wednesday with Jim Green himself being there. Green was the first African American student-athlete at Kentucky and in the SEC to win both SEC and NCAA championships.

Inside the 81,000-square-foot building is a 200-meter banked track. Right outside is a statue of Green with all of his accomplishments.
