Banquet Awards

Women’s golfer Marta Lopez Echevarria earned Low Stroke Average and Most Improved at this season’s team banquet. She improved her stroke average year after year, ending her college career with a 72.8 through 27 rounds.

🔼 Day 2. The track and field team gained three Second-Team All-American finishes on day two of the NCAA Championships. Emmi Scales (100m hurdles), Janet Jepkemboi Amimo (800m) and the women’s 4×400m relay team all earned the All-American awards. Kate Powers finished 23rd in the hammer throw final, and Payton Phillips took 20th in the pole vault final.

🔼 We’re Hosting. The men’s basketball team will host North Carolina on Dec. 2 inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. This is the third installment of the event between the two conferences. The Cats will look for victory as North Carolina leads the all-time series between the programs 25-18.

Regional Honor. The men’s tennis team had two athletes earn ITA regional awards. Antoine Ghibaudo was named the Ohio Valley Region Rookie of the Year.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Winner. Two University of Kentucky women’s golfers competed in the final match of the 97th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Women’s Amateur Championship. Cathryn Brown defeated C. A. Carter at Nevel Meade Golf Club in Prospect, Kentucky.
