🔼 POTW’s. The football team had two players earn weekly honors. Linebacker Sam Greene was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week. He totaled an interception, six tackles, one-half tackle for loss and a fourth-down stop for turnover on downs. Safety Jordan Castell was named the Panini Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week. He had a team-high 13 tackles (also a career high), a pass breakup and a critical fourth-quarter interception.

🔼 Champions! The women’s golf team won the Bettie Lou Invitational. Kentucky finished with a score of 839 (-25). Cathryn Brown won the individual title with an overall score of 206 (-10). This marked her third collegiate tournament win. Isabella Johnson placed third, C.A. Carter tied for fourth, Lucy Cook tied for 12th, Brooke Oberparleiter tied for 26th and Samantha Paradise tied for 42nd. The Cats set the tournament record for the lowest 54-hole team round, it is also the third-best 54-hole team total in program history.

Great 8. Football player Kenny Minchey was named a Davey O’Brien Great 8 Quarterback of the Week. He now joins the Davey O’Brien Midseason Watch List.

Minchey completed 14-of-18 passes for ### yards and two touchdowns.

🔼 Top Team. The football team was named the Pop-Tarts Bowl Crazy Good Team of the Week. Kentucky upset No. 9/8 Texas A&M on Saturday, 31-21. The Cats will receive a delivery of assorted Pop-Tarts and a custom-crafted game ball from Big Game USA. This is the 25th year that the FWAA has had a National Team of the Week program, and the fourth time the Wildcats have earned the honor.

🔼 Best Coaches. Head coach Will Stein was named the Dodd Trophy National Coach of the Week. The Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week award honors a football coach who led his team to a significant victory during the previous week, while also embodying the award’s three pillars of scholarship, leadership and integrity. Stein became the first head coach in Kentucky history to win a true road game against an Associated Press Top 10 opponent in his first season.  It also marks his first road win, his first Southeastern Conference win and his first win over any ranked opponent. Offensive line coach Cutter Leftwich was named the Coach of the Week by the Shriners Children’s East-West Bowl. The Wildcats tallied 408 total yards and 7.6 yards per play against No. 9/8 Texas A&M.
