The men's and women's tennis teams went 1-1 this past weekend.

🔼 Even Steven. The women’s tennis team went 1-1 this weekend at the 2024 ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Cats started with a 4-3 win over Charlotte. The women dropped a doubles point but claimed all four singles points to earn the victory. Lidia Gonzalez pulled the clutch performance en route for the Cats to win.

The women advanced to play No. 1 North Carolina but faced their first loss of the season 4-0. The Cats are now 4-1 overall. They have beaten two NCAA Tournament teams from last year.

🔼 Breakeven. The No. 10 men’s tennis team competed in the ITA Kickoff Weekend and went 1-1. On day one, the Cats beat Notre Dame 4-3. Doubles play was intense as it all came down to court two, where Taha Baadi and Matt Rankin battled to earn the win and put the Cats ahead 1-0. Jaden Weekes provided the clinch win for the men as he won in a second-set tiebreaker. The men also advanced to day two but lost to Alabama 4-2.

🔼 Five Doubles. The women’s basketball team had five players in the double-digits against Alabama, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. The Cats lost 91-74. Read about it here.

Strong Start. The women’s golf team started its spring season with play against Indiana. The Cats won 4-1, and Jensen Castle led the team, defeating her opponent without finishing a full round. María Villanueva Aperribay and Marissa Wenzler went into extra holes to claim the victory.
