🔼 The Big Three. A super catcher, a pitcher who didn’t allow a run in the postseason, and a Gold Glove finalist… sound familiar? Devin Burkes, Mason Moore, and Grant Smith — this cluster of Wildcats announced their return to Kentucky baseball after having professional opportunities in their hands. Devin was the Lexington Regional’s Most Outstanding Player and batted .291 through the season with 65 runs and 9 homers. Mason threw 10 scoreless innings in two regional wins and 4.1 in the Baton Rouge Super Regional. Grant and the Wildcats led the nation in fielding percentage. He hit .281 with 8 home runs and led the SEC with 11 sacrifices. We sure are glad to have this trio back!

🔼 Leveretter Leads The Way. Women’s basketball player Nyah Leveretter was appointed to the 2023-2024 NCAA DI Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete Engagement Group. She’s expected to help sustain and advance the NCAA’s mission, traditions, values, and reputation in this role. Nyah has had multiple leadership positions including the 2023-2024 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Vice President and being named to the 2022-2023 SEC Basketball Leadership Council and the Frank G. Ham Society of Character. She has been interning for Nike this summer.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Kentucky pitcher Zack Lee found his home in Detroit when the Tigers signed him. He turned down an MLB deal in 2022 to return to the Wildcats for the 2023 season. Zack received Co-National Player of the Week honors in May after throwing 12 strikeouts and 105 pitches. Congratulations, Zack!
