Greatness Great Clips Athlete of the Week

Women’s golfer C.A. Carter is the Greatness Great Clips Athlete of the Week! The sophomore shot a 1-under 71 in the opening round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, tying for 12th place in the 67-player field at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. Click here to watch her feature.

🔼 On A Roll. The baseball team beat No. 10 Arkansas 4-3 on Thursday. Pitcher Jaxon Jelkin added another win to his season after pitching 2.0 innings and striking out two batters. Ethan Hindle hit a two-run home run in the first inning. This marks the team’s second victory over a Top 10 team this season.

🔼 Day 1. The track and field team competed in day one of the SEC Outdoor Championships. Anthony Waterman broke the Kentucky men’s 400m hurdles record with a time of 49.85. This marks the third time this season Waterman has improved her career-best time, today advancing to the SEC 400m hurdles final on Saturday. The Cats had five prelim qualifiers and four top 10 program marks.

Superb Overall GPA. UK Athletics has surpassed its goal of a 3.0 GPA again! In the spring semester of 2026, the Cats averaged 3.471. All 23 varsity programs achieved a 3.0 team GPA or higher in the spring.

The Cats have surpassed a 3.0 GPA for ## straight semesters.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Academic Honors. The women’s tennis team had two athletes earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors. Zoe Hammond and Julia Zhu were recognized for their hard work. Individuals are nominated on behalf of each school, in which they must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a 3.50 GPA, and compete in 75% of team scored competitions throughout the season. This marks Hammond’s third straight year earning the award and Zhu’s second.
