🔼 Going Pro! Two Kentucky baseball players were selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. Tyler Bell was the No. 10 overall pick. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies. Bell is the second-highest pick in program history in the main draft. His selection makes four first round picks in nine drafts for UK coach Nick Mingione, including three inside the top 19 picks. Jaxon Jelkin was selected in the fourth round as the No. 135 overall pick by the Philadelphia Phillies. This past season, Jelkin went 8-3 with a 4.08 earned run average. He struck out 106 in 97.0 innings.

🔼 On the Court. The NBA Summer League is live in Las Vegas! There are 11 Kentucky Wildcats competing in the event. All 30 NBA teams are participating in the event, showcasing some of the top young talent the game has to offer. A total of 76 games will be played in the 11-day competition, with each team playing at least five games. The tournament runs through Sunday, July 19.

Top Scholars. The University of Kentucky Athletics Department had a huge number of student-athletes on the Southeastern Conference’s 2025-26 First Year Honor Roll.

🔼 New Staff. The swim and dive team welcomes Ben Keast as a new assistant coach. Keast recently spent three seasons with SwimMac Carolina, one of the nation’s premier club swimming programs. He was the assistant coach for the program’s High Performance Training Group where he worked with nationally ranked athletes. In his career, Keast spent four years as an assistant coach with the Swimming Canada High Performance Centre where he coached Canadian National Team athletes preparing for the Olympic Games.
