Good morning. Many big things happened with men’s basketball this past weekend. First off, the men took down Georgia. Second, we celebrated the 1984 Final Four team. And finally, Big Z made his season debut!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Keep it 💯. The men’s basketball team welcomed Zvonimir Ivisic to his first official game as a Cat when Kentucky took on Georgia. The men had an outstanding 105-96 win, shooting 61.9% from the field and 56% from the arc. Tre Mitchell led the Cats with 23 points, and Antonio Reeves had 21. In Ivisic’s first game, he finished with 13 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

🔼 Breaking Records. The track and field team is all about breaking records. Keaton Daniel started the weekend not only by vaulting a personal best score, but he also broke the school record and set the national lead this season. Daniel’s indoor score was 19’0.25”. Dennis Ohene-Adu is in the record book for his 68’10” weight throw.

On day two of the Corky Classic and Vanderbilt Invitational, Luke Brown improved his personal best, broke the school record and holds the greatest distance recorded in the country by a collegian so far this season in the triple jump with a distance of 55’1.50”. Kennedy Lightner had a time of 20.42 seconds in the men’s 200m to put him second in the UK all-time performers list.

Home Dub. The men’s basketball team had a big win against Georgia at home this past weekend. Overall, the Cats lead the series 132-28 against the Bulldogs.

Myers’ Match. The women finished strong to clinch the win over Penn State— Ellie Myers, Zoe Hammond and Lidia Gonzalez. Myers dominated 6-0, 6-0 in her No. 6 singles match. Hammond and Gonzalez added a doubles point and a singles win to finish 4-1 against Penn State. The Cats are now 5-2 in the all-time series over the Nittany Lions.
