🔼 Hall of Famer. Former Kentucky football player Art Still was named to the Philadelphia Sports hall of Fame. Still played at UK from1994-97. Still was a four-year starter who totaled 327 tackles during his career, an amazing figure for a defensive end. Quarterback sacks were not kept during his career and tackles for loss are available only for his senior year, when he compiled 22 TFL – a school record that “Still” stands. After being tabbed as the second overall pick of the 1978 NFL Draft (only behind Earl Campbell), Still went on to a record-setting 12-year career with the Kansas City Chiefs (1978-87) and the Buffalo Bills (1988-89).

🔼 Close Game. The No. 15 softball team faced No. 10 Mississippi State in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday. The Cats were up 3-1, but Mississippi State scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the game 4-3. Allie Blum and Karissa Hamilton led the team with two hits each. Both of Hamilton’s hits were home runs that brought in three runs total.

Remembering Him. Naismith Memorial Basketball and University of Kentucky Hall of Famer Adrian “Odie” Smith has passed away. Smith was a men’s basketball player and a member of the “Fidlin’ Five.”

What years was Smith a Cat?

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Rivalry Match. The volleyball team will play its annual match with Louisville on Sunday, Sept. 20. The match will take place inside Historic Memorial Coliseum at 3pm ET. It will be televised on a station within the ESPN Family of Networks. Last season, UK knocked off No. 3 Louisville in a five-set match inside the KFC Yum! Center in the Derby City. Kentucky leads the all-time series with Louisville 32-28 and its win over the Cards last year was its first in the series since 2019. The UK sweep of UL in 2019 was also Kentucky’s last win over Louisville in Lexington in the series history.
