Today, we're looking at the 1983 UK vs Vanderbilt game and last night's soccer match.

Good morning. Time to get serious, it's almost game day. Actually, maybe later. The football team takes on a different type of game on TikTok before they take the field.

What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

🏈 Flashback Friday
⚽️ It’s a draw
🔵 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Rushing Past. We are taking you way back for this flashback Friday to Nov. 5, 1983, when George Adams had a 54-yard touchdown against Vanderbilt. That play capped Adams’ record-tying 135-yard rushing day, and Kentucky won 17-8.

Fast forward to the present day, Kentucky takes on Vanderbilt tomorrow at noon. The team is looking for revenge and defensive coordinator Brad White admits that he hates to lose.

🔼 Knotted Tie. The women had their third tie game of the season with a 0-0 final against No. 7 South Carolina. It was truly surprising that the game ended in a tie when Kentucky had 10 shots and six shots on goal, and South Carolina had zero shots. Grace Phillpotts took three shots, and Anna Young had a pair herself. The Wildcats will look to keep their undefeated streak in the next game on Sunday against Florida.

🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Magic #3. Kentucky football has won each of the first three games of the season by at least 10 points for the last two seasons. This is the first time this has happened in a long time.

Today’s question— when was the last time Kentucky won each of the first three games by at least 10 points for two straight seasons?

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Legit Leader. It’s WAR time, and no, not the long-drawn battle against countries, just a stats battle against D1 softball players. And it just so happens that Erin Coffel is the top five leader in WAR for D1 position players. This means that Coffel has a high Wins Above Replacement, which compares each player to the theoretical “replacement-level” player. AKA, she’s really good.
