🔼 Right Arm. Junior quarterback Brock Vandagriff has been named to the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list. The award recognizes the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. Vandagriff is entering his first season with the Cats after two years at Georgia.

🔼 Shining Early. The women’s soccer team won its season opener against Central Michigan 2-0. Sydni Fink and Alexis Tylenda were the freshman goal-scorers of the night. Marz Josephson recorded her first clean sheet in goal for the season. This is the third straight season opener win for head coach Troy Fabiano since taking the job in 2022.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Academic Queens. The Kentucky gymnastics team has been named one of 63 programs to post a 3.50 or higher GPA. A total of 14 Cats have been named Scholastic All-Americans following the 2023-24 academic year. Four of the 14 student-athletes had 4.0 GPAs— Cadence Gormely, Claire Stippich, Delaynee Rodriguez and Sharon Lee.
