📈 STOCK UP 

🔼 Extra Effort. The men’s basketball team gave Big Blue Nation a heart-pounding game against Saint Joseph’s. The Cats took the Hawks into an overtime dual where Kentucky came out with back-to-back threes that led them to a 96-88 victory. Tre Mitchell and DJ Wagner both had 22 points, and Wagner had a career-high six assists.

The boys are now 4-1, hitting at least 10 three-pointers in each of their last three games. They hit 12 of 25, 48%, against Saint Josephs and look to continue dropping buckets on Friday night against Marshall.

🔼 Winter Battle. The rifle team traveled up to the freezing cold grounds of Alaska to compete against Akron and Alaska this past weekend. The team took down Akron on day one with a final score of 4721-4712. They posted the largest air rifle score of the season and fifth best in the nation at 2384. Sofia Ceccarello led the team in air rifle yet again with 599, while she and Martin Voss both hit 587 to lead in smallbore.

Next, the team took on Alaska and Akron in a tri-match. The Cats scored their highest team score of 4745 and hit season highs in smallbore, 2357, and air rifle, 2388. Emmie Sellers scored a career-high 588 in smallbore and 598 in air rifle.

🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Fantastic Four. The swim and dive team had four new top 10 program times in the Tennessee Invitational last weekend. Three of them were from men— Ryan Merani and two from Lance Johnson. The fourth was from the women’s team.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Podium Pretty. The men’s and women’s swim and dive team competed in the Tennessee Invitational, taking fourth and fifth-place finishes. Ryan Merani won a silver medal in the men’s 200 butterfly, putting up a 1:43.28 time. Grace Frericks placed third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.73. Sam Duncan stood tall, winning the men’s 1-meter dive. The team totaled four new top 10 program times and will bring its precision to the USA Diving Nationals starting Tuesday, Nov. 28.
