Good morning. It’s a great day to wake up with wise words from offensive lineman Marques Cox. (And a great reminder that football starts in just 16 days!)
What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

🔼 Welcome Home. Kentucky men’s basketball has another addition joining for the season and he hails all the way from Croatia. His name is Zvonimir Ivišić—and before you ask, it’s pronounced ZON-uh-meer EE-vee-sitch.
The 7’ 2”, 220-pound forward averaged 11.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game in the FIBA U20 European Championship. As excited as head coach John Calipari is for Zvonimir Ivišić to be here, Zvonimir Ivišić can’t wait to be taught by a Hall of Fame coach.
🔼 Fantastic Four. It’s time for the ladies to show off their preseason honors—and would you look at that… they’ve racked up as many watch list honors as the men!
Payton Robertson just transferred to Kentucky in her fifth year and comes as a two-time All-MAC honoree. She was picked as Player to Watch by United Soccer Coaches.
Maggy Henschler is a graduate student playing for her second year at Kentucky after 17 starts last season, three goals, and seven shots.
Marz Josephson is a graduate transfer goalkeeper who reached two NCAA Finals, played in nine games last season, and racked up a .800 save percentage.
Anna Young plays midfield and is back for another year with Kentucky. She’s looking to build on last season and put up big numbers following last year’s 18 appearances and a career-high 1,341 minutes.
🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA
Fan Day. Happening tonight… Kentucky volleyball will play an exhibition match against Western Kentucky at 6 p.m. and it’s Fan Day.
The Wildcats are looking to beat WKU for a second time after beating them last year in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
Today’s question—how many sets did it take Kentucky to beat WKU last season?

🔵 ONE BIG THING
Academic weapons. Last year our athletes really put the student in student-athlete as we set a new school record with 12 Academic All-American selections.
Nine Wildcats earned first-team designation, one was second team, and two were third team.
Quarterback Will Levis stood high and mighty as he was named Academic All-American of the Year in football.
