🔼 Football Vs. Basketball. Kentucky standout Jasper Johnson always knew he’d play collegiate sports; the question boiled down to whether he’d play football or basketball. While Johnson comes from a football-first family, he ultimately settled on playing hoops for the Wildcats. Read more about his journey here. 

🔼 MVP. Former Wildcat Erin Coffel is the MVP of the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League! Coffel, also the recipient of the League’s Hitter of the Year award, helped drive the Bandits to a 15-9 record and second-place regular season finish. Coffel posted four triples, 28 RBIs, and a .410 batting average.

🔼 Mark Your Calendars. The slate is set for Kentucky women’s golf! The Wildcats will participate in four regular-season tournaments in the fall and five in the spring, with the season getting underway September 8-10 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in Grand Haven, Michigan. 🔼 A New Coach. Tito Medrano will join Kentucky track and field and cross country as the program’s new cross country and distance coach. Medrano most recently worked at the University of Toledo, where he served as the school’s associate head coach of cross country and track and field. Last season, the Toledo men’s cross country team secured the program’s first-ever Mid-American Conference Championship, and Medrano earned his second straight MAC Men’s Coach of the Year award.

🔼 Welcome Aboard. Kentucky football head coach Mark Stoops announced the addition of Greg Frey as an assistant offensive line coach. Frey spent the last two years at Tulsa. During his coaching career, Frey has worked with more than 40 student-athletes who have gone on to have careers in the NFL.

Top 100. Former Wildcat Josh Hines-Allen is having a standout NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hines-Allen landed at No. 63 on the list of the Top 100 NFL Players of 2025.
