🔼 Roster Roundup. Out of all of the fish in the sea, Levi Sandidge was one of the 94 athletes named to the 2023-24 U.S. National Team by USA Swimming and the first-ever UK male swimmer to be chosen. The 19-year-old holds one of the country’s top six times in the 1500m freestyle, won the SEC Championships in the 1650 freestyle, and All-SEC First Team. Along with his many other accomplishments, Sandidge is a great fit for the USA Swim Team.

🔼 High Five. The women’s golf team finished its season opener in fifth place at the Cougar Classic. The team hit 832 (-20), and all five athletes placed in the top 50 individual ranking. This is the second-best team round and third-best team total in program history.

🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Speedy Gonzales. Levi Sandidge lives in the fast lane. His name is in the record book five times— No.1 in 1500m freestyle, No. 1 in 1000 and 1650 freestyle, and No.9 in the 400 IM and 500 freestyle. As mentioned above, Sandidge holds a top time in the 1500m freestyle.

Hall of Fame part 2. Another day, another Hall of Fame induction. The inductees are Tom Leach and Brigid DeVries who now have their names inside the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. Leach is in his 35th year voicing the play-by-plays for the football and men’s basketball teams. DeVries was one of the founding administrators/coaches of UK women’s varsity sports in the 1970s.
