📈 STOCK UP

🔼 New Cat. The women’s basketball team welcomes Dazia Lawrence to the 2024-25 roster! Lawrence is a 5’8” guard from Greenville, N.C. Lawrence was recently at Charlotte, where she played four seasons. She had a total of 1,170 points, 287 rebounds, 162 assists and 133 steals. Last season, she averaged 18.2 points. 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

🔼 Degree Earned. The University of Kentucky held its Spring Commencement last Friday, and 122 current and former student-athletes graduated. There are 18 graduates who are completing their master’s degrees. Three Wildcats are expected to graduate after finishing their undergraduate work as part of the UK Athletics’ Post-Eligibility program.

🔼 First Round. The women’s golf team completed the first round of the NCAA East Lansing Regional. The Cats sit in eighth place with a score of 292 (+4). Marta López Echevarría leads the team with a score of 70 (-2), which tied for fourth place individually. Laney Frye tied for 12th place with a score of 71 (-1).

Above and Beyond. Kentucky recently tied the school record for its NCAA Graduation Success Rate. The national average is 91, and they are above it.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Conference Awards. The Southeastern Conference honored Jaden Thompson and Zane Rosely with the Community Service Award. Thompson has been with the rifle program for the last five years. She has helped organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, Lexington Humane Society, Eastview Funeral Ministry, American Red Cross, etc. Rosely has been a team captain for the swim and dive team for the past few seasons. He has spent over 70 hours assisting with the Golfview Estates Neighborhood Association.
