🔼 Opening Dub. The men’s basketball team won its first game of the 2025-26 regular season. The No. 9 Cats beat Nicholls 77-51. Collin Chandler led the game with 15 points. Otega Oweh was right behind with 13. Kentucky shot 46.8% from the field and led in fast break points (20-6), assists (21-9) and rebounds (51-30).

🔼 Weekly Honors. The football team had two players named to SEC weekly awards. Quarterback Cutter Boley was named the Co-Freshman of the Week. Jalen Farmer was named the Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week. Boley completed 18 of 29 passes for 161 passing yards and a touchdown. Farmer played all 64 offensive plays and had seven blocks at the point of attack. Aidan Laros was named to a national honor. He earned a spot on the Ray Guy Award Ray’s 8 weekly list. Laros punted six times for a 44.8-yard average.
🔼 Finale. The men’s soccer team tied Old Dominion 1-1 in the regular season finale. Isaiah Chisolm scored for Kentucky. The Cats had eight shots, and five were on goal. Goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon had five saves. The men wrap up the regular season 10-2-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play. Kentucky starts postseason play on Sunday.
🔼 Shootout. The women’s soccer team tied No. 17 Georgia 1-1 in the SEC quarterfinal match. The teams then went into a shootout where the Cats fell 5-4. Kentucky had 12 shots, and six were on goal. Catherine Rapp scored the lone goal for the Cats during regulation time. Goalkeeper Megan Holland had one save. The women finish their season 12-4-4 overall and 5-2-3 in conference play.

Top Players. Men’s basketball players Jaland Lowe and Otega Oweh were named Naismith Trophy Men’s Player of the Year preseason candidates. Lowe is one of eight players in the nation to average at least 16.5 points, 4.0 boards and 5.5 dimes a season ago. Oweh led the Cats in scoring at 16.2 points per game last season.
