🔼 Down to the Wire. The men’s basketball team traveled to Baton Rouge to play LSU on Wednesday. The Tigers led up until the final few minutes of the second half. Kentucky got its first lead of the game, which only lasted 26 seconds. With 42 seconds remaining, Kentucky was able to take another lead before falling one point short with 1.6 seconds remaining. Collin Chandler threw the ball to Malachi Moreno, who calmly hit the game-winner, 75-74. The Cats outscored LSU 53-36 in the second half. Otega Oweh led the team with 21 points.
🔼 Sweep! The men’s tennis team kicked off the 2026 spring season with two match wins on Wednesday. The Wildcats beat Dayton in a doubleheader 6-1 and 4-0. Kentucky won a total of three doubles matches and nine singles matches.

Outstanding. Kentucky Athletics Hall of Famer Tubby Smith was named a recipient of the 2026 Naismith Outstanding Contributor to Basketball Award. The award honors the extraordinary and lasting impact on the game. Smith will be honored at the 2026 NCAA Final Four. In his career, Smith coached at High Point, Memphis, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Kentucky, Georgia and Tulsa. He finished his career with a 642-370 record.
