🔼 Super Regional Champs! The Wildcats started off Super Regionals with a shutout over Oregon State. The men won 10-0, with Trey Pooser only allowing one single in seven shutout innings. Ryan Nicholson hit a home run for the third consecutive game. Emilien Pitre hit a two-run double, which got the train rolling, and the Cats scored seven runs in the seventh inning.

The Cats won game two 3-2, with Nolan McCarthy scoring the game-winning run on a pass ball. McCarthy was on second base, saw a wide open home plate and took advantage of the opportunity to score. He also led the team with two hits and two RBIs. Kentucky will move on to play in the Men’s College World Series in Omaha for the first time in program history.

🔼  Day 3&4. On day three of the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Charity Hufnagel set a new school record in the women’s high jump during the heptathlon with a height of 6’1.50.” Overall, she earned the team 3,655 points in one day. Luke Brown finished in fifth place in the triple jump with a distance of 52’11.25.” On day four, Hufnagel resumed the heptathlon competition. She finished in 10th place with 852 points. She finished in 14th in the long jump and 17th in the javelin throw.


Pooser Power. Pitcher Trey Pooser had an outstanding performance in game one against Oregon State. He extended his postseason streak this season to only run allowed in many innings.

Better Than Ever. Kate Powers improved her freshman record for a fourth time this outdoor season in hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She threw at 215’7,” which moved her to third all-time in the UK all-time performers list. It placed her ninth in the championships. Payton Phillips scored half a point for the team, tying her personal best of 14’1.25” in the pole vault.
