🔼 Next Step. It was exciting back in August to hear that Alex Raynor was on the Lou Groza Award Watch List, but now it’s even cooler that he’s on the William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalist Watch List also. There are 201 semifinalists for the award, and each athlete is a senior or graduate student in their final year of playing eligibility, has a GPA of at least 3.2, has great football abilities as a first-team player, and has strong leadership and citizenship.
The 12 to 14 finalists will be announced on Oct. 25, and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. On Dec. 5, one member will be declared the winner and will have the money increase to $25,000.
🔼 Back at It. The women’s tennis team gets its season started this weekend. The Wildcats have three tournaments together and will be split up for the last two. Those who qualify will go to the ITA Fall Nationals, and the rest of the team will attend the UNF Invite.
🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA
Game Day Ready. This is more of a reminder, but it’s a very important one that we have to quiz you on it. At tomorrow’s football game against Florida, the fans at Kroger Field will be wearing two colors, blue and white.
Today’s question— what color does the South (home side of the field) have to wear?

Play Ball. Two former Wildcat baseball players made it into the Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame. Ryan Strieby you may be familiar with since he graduated in 2006 and played 10 seasons of minor-league baseball with multiple teams: Detroit Tigers, Toledo Mud Hens, Mobile BayBears, Reno Aces, and attended the Blue Jays Extended Spring Training.
Dick Parsons played both baseball and basketball and coached for each sport too. He was an All-American shortstop in baseball and a three-year letterman in men’s basketball. Parsons was the assistant coach of the 1978 national champion team for men’s basketball.
