πŸ”Ό Regionals Recap. The baseball team opened the Lexington Regional with a victory over Western Michigan. The Cats won 10-8, with Robert Hogan throwing 3.1 scoreless relief innings. James McCoy was hot at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBIs, a double, a home run and a hit by pitch.

Next, Kentucky beat Illinois 6-1. Trey Pooser threw seven innings, allowing only five hits, one run and struck out seven batters. Ryan Waldschmidt went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double, a home run, one run and three RBIs.

The Cats took on Indiana State on Sunday and won 5-0 after a rain delay. Mason Moore pitched six strong innings, striking out six batters and not allowing any runs. Ryan Nicholson hit a solo home run, and Emilen Pitre hit a two-run home run. The men will play in the Super Regionals starting this weekend.

πŸ”Ό Welcome Home! The men’s basketball team gained Jaxson Robinson for the 2024-25 season. Robinson is a 6’7” guard who was the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year. Last season, he played at BYU, where he led the Cougars in scoring 14.2 points per game. He has appeared in 96 collegiate games and started in 44 over his years at Texas A&M, Arkansas and BYU. Robinson will be playing his final season of collegiate basketball at Kentucky.

πŸ€” BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Serving It Up. The Southeastern Conference named one Kentucky women’s track and field athlete to the Community Service Team. This athlete worked closely with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Lexington chapter. In her sport, she earned three personal bests this season in the 600m, mile run and 800m.

Tick Tock. Game times have been released for the first three weeks of the 2024 football season! The Cats will have prime TV window kickoff times each of the first three weeks, starting with a 7:45 p.m. ET game against Southern Miss on the SEC Network on Aug. 31. Next, the men play South Carolina at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 7, and it will be on ABC. The week three matchup will also be on ABC, where Kentucky will face Georgia on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
