🔼 Are We Surprised? The National Association of Basketball Coaches named Reed Sheppard 2023-24 Freshman of the Year. He is the first winner from Kentucky to claim the honor, which began naming players in 2016-17. Sheppard has also been named the nation’s best freshman by the United States Basketball Writers Association, The Field of 68 and both ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Dick Vitale.

We Know Him! Former Kentucky men’s basketball star Oscar Tshiebwe was named the 2023-24 Kia G League Rookie of the Year. Tshiebwe set the league’s all-time rebound record with an average of 16.2 per game in the 23 games played with the Mad Ants. He also set a new Mad Ant franchise record of 530 total rebounds with 200 being offensive and 330 defensive.
