Good morning. Since there are 13 Tuesdays until Christmas, I think it’s okay to start making holiday references, especially when women’s golf just competed in the Mason Rudolph Championship. See what spot they took on the sleigh below.

What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Sweeping Time. Kentucky softball brought their brooms to sweep Parkland College in a doubleheader game day. The Cats won the first game with a 9-0 shutout. Erin Coffel blasted one over the left field wall for the first run of the game, and Grace Lorsung had a homer in the fourth inning.

In game two, Ally Hutchins sent the ball over the wall on two outs and with two runners on base. The women were able to take the lead and win the game 5-3. Make sure to catch the undefeated team on Thursday when they play Georgetown College.

🔼 Rounds in Rudolph. The women finished three rounds at the Mason Rudolph Championship and ended with a total of 870 (+6) to put them in 11th place. The Wildcats were pretty steady in rounds one and two with scores of 288 and 287, where they sat tied for ninth place but struggled in round three with 295 shots.

Laney Frye continues to lead the Cats, finishing in ninth place overall with a score of 210 (-6). She was the only teammate to finish under par. Jensen Castle and Marissa Wenzler finished +1, and Brooke Oberparleiter and María Villanueva Aperribay finished +13. The women are back on the green on Monday at The Blessings Collegiate.

🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Moving Up. The men’s golf team is starting the SEC Match Play Championships and looks to improve its standing from last years 14th place finish. Campbell Kremer had the best score for Kentucky last season where he finished 207 (-3) overall.

Today’s question— what place did Kremer place individually in the SEC Match Play Championships last season?

🔵 ONE BIG THING

HairstONE. The one and only Maxwell Hairston was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after setting a conference record of two interception returns for touchdowns. However, these weren’t his first interceptions. He also had one against Eastern Kentucky. Hairston is a sophomore defensive back and has played in all four football games so far this season, recording a total of 17 solo tackles and six assisted tackles.
