🔼 Sweeping Smile. Even though Brooklyn DeLeye is a freshman on the Kentucky volleyball team, she knows how big of a competition the UK vs. Tennessee match was. She also loved that the first sweep of the season was against Tennessee, especially since they are a top-10 ranked team. BBN Tonight sat down with DeLeye and head coach Craig Skinner to talk about the team’s success.
🔼 (Boo)morrow. The softball team is ready to bring out its tricks and treats at the Big Blue Boo game tonight at 8 p.m. The Wildcats are already spooking teammates, but don’t dare scare head coach Rachel Lawson. BBN Tonight spoke to Lawson, and she is not a lover of horror. We will see if she can escape potential scares at the fall festivities at 6:30 p.m. Be there to find out!
🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA
Going National. Two lucky athletes on the men’s basketball team took a trip to the SEC Tipoff event with head coach John Calipari. One was a graduate student, and one was a fifth year.
Today’s question— which two athletes went to the SEC Tipoff event?

🔵 ONE BIG THING
🔼 All About ‘em. You can add another award to Ray Davis’ list because he and Maxwell Hairston were just named Associated Press Midseason All-America Team, second team. Since we talked about Davis yesterday, let’s focus on Hairston. Hairston is a sophomore, and he has a nation-high-tying five interceptions this season. That ties him at fifth for most interceptions in a single season in program history.
Hairston has 131 total interception return yards, a team-high tying 44 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a team-high three pass breakups and a forced fumble. He’s had many weekly honors— SEC Defensive Player of the Week, Jim Thorpe National Defensive Back of the Week, and Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week.
