Good morning. Signaling all service members. This Saturday we are celebrating you, our Heroes, at the football game for Heroes’ Day. And here’s a perk… special priced tickets! Make sure to thank a Hero this weekend.

What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

🏈 SEC standouts: Brown and Wallace
🏌️ Alex Goff sits tied at fourth
🔵 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 The Whole Nine(ty-nine) Yards. Barion Brown booked it down the field for 99 yards on a kick return to score in the second half of the UK vs. Ball State game, landing him SEC Special Teams Player of the Week and a spot in school history with it being the first time the Wildcats have back-to-back home openers with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Trevin Wallace stood big and mighty as he tallied a team-high of 12 tackles against the Cardinals, making him the SEC Defensive Player of the Week. Remember when BSU fumbled, and we returned it for a 69-yard touchdown? You can thank Wallace for getting the first hit on that guy.

🔼 Climbing Up. Kentucky men’s golf currently sits ninth in the Folds of Honor Collegiate, but one golfer is tied for fourth overall. After two rounds at the American Dunes Golf Club, Goff totals 141, which is -1 to par overall. He is looking to secure a top-five spot when he finishes round three on Wednesday.

🤔 BIG BLUE TRIVIA

Then and Now. The men’s golf team is competing in its first rounds of the season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. After day one, the team is ninth out of 18 schools. Last season, the men were sitting a little higher up at the Island Resort Intercollegiate season opener.

Today’s question—what place did the men’s golf team finish at the Island Resort Intercollegiate last season?

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Twofer. Hey Siri, search “best women’s soccer SEC athlete this week.” There, you will see our Wildcat Jordyn Rhodes named Offensive Player of the Week. Rhodes has had back-to-back weeks scoring two goals, putting her at a 2023 season total of six, which is the most of any player in the SEC.

She is also just two goals behind all-time program record holder Kim LaBelle’s 42 goals scored in her collegiate career. At the rate Rhodes is raking in goals, I think her name might be at the top of the record book soon.
