🔼 Wrapped Up. The track and field athletes wrapped up competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championship. On Friday, Collins Kiprop Kipngok took fourth in the 3000m steeplechase. Julia Gunnell had a personal records in the 100m hurdles and high jump portions of the heptathlon. On Saturday, Gunnell finished the heptathlon and landed at No. 2 in the UK All-Time record book. Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera took seventh in the 400m hurdles. Janet Jepkemboi Amimo finished eighth in the 800m. The 4×400m relay team placed ninth.

NBA TITLE FOR TOWNS! Former men’s basketball player Karl-Anthony Towns won the NBA Title with the New York Knicks on Saturday.

🔼 In the Spotlight. Kentucky men’s basketball assistant coach Mikahil McLean has been named The Bahamas National Team head coach. His tenure will begin with World Cup qualifying in July. McLean’s role with the Wildcats will not change. He will miss a few weeks of summer practice but will be with the team full-time as the fall semester begins. McLean is a native of The Bahamas and has been a part of the coaching staff since 2021. The opening game will take place on July 3 against Jamaica before taking on Puerto Rico on July 6. Both games will be played at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs National Gymnasium in Nassau, The Bahamas.
