New Coach

The football team is expanding its staff. Head coach Will Stein hired Kolby Smith as the new running backs coach. Smith is a former NFL running back himself. He previously coached the running backs at Arkansas for the last two seasons. Click here to learn more about Smith.

🔼 Smart Cats. The 2025 fall grades are finalized, and the student-athletes impressed yet again. The Wildcats surpassed their goal of a 3.0 GPA for 27 straight semesters with a 3.429. The women’s tennis team led the department with a fall GPA of 3.880. The baseball team led all men’s teams in GPA with a mark of 3.725.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Welcome! The volleyball team added Morgan Gaerte to its 2026 roster. Gaerte is an outside hitter with two years of eligibility remaining. She spent her first two years at Notre Dame. She was named First Team All-ACC after the 2025 season and honorable mention on the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association All-America list for this year. Gaerte started in all 28 matches in 2025 and logged 497 kills.
