Clara Strack’s 3rd Preseason Honor

Women’s basketball player Clara Strack was named to the 2025-26 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Watch List presented by AXIA Time. She is one of 50 athletes on the list. She was also named to two All-SEC honors previously. Read about all of her honors here.

🔼 Plus 2. Men’s basketball player Otega Oweh added two more honors to a quickly growing list. He was named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 NABC Division I Player of the Year Award and was picked as the Southeastern Conference Preseason Player of the Year. The NABC honor features 20 athletes. Oweh led the Cats in scoring 16.2 points per game last season.

🔼 Exhibition. The men’s basketball team hosted Georgetown University on Thursday. The Cats fell 84-70. Otega Oweh led the team with 17 points. Mo Dioubate was the next highest scorer with 13 points. Next up, the men will host Nicholls for the regular-season opener on Tuesday,

Senior Night. The men’s soccer team hosts Georgia State tonight for Senior Night. The men moved up to No. 18 in the latest poll from the United Soccer Coaches Association earlier this week.

🔵 ONE BIG THING

Triple Threat. The women’s soccer team had three players earn All-Southeastern Conference honors. Grace Hoytink was named to the Second Team. She started in all ten conference matches, playing 895 of 900 possible minutes. Tanner Strickland was named to the Third Team. She recorded career highs with two goals and six assists this season. Gabi Poretto earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team. She tied a Kentucky freshman record with four game-winning goals.
