đź Change Of Pace. College athletics is always evolving, and head coach Mark Stoops has seen first-hand just how true that is in his 11 years in Lexington.
From scouting high school players, examining the transfer portal, and assessing the talent on the current rosterâCoach Stoops and his staff have a lot on their plate to put together the perfect team. But that doesnât mean theyâre not brimming with confidence going into this season.
đź Under The Bright Lights. Make sure youâve got which station the Golf Channel is on because Laney Frye and Jensen Castle are competing in the U.S Womenâs Amateur Championship starting today and running through the end of this weekend.
Jensen Castle has competed in the U.S. Womenâs Amateur Championship every summer since 2020. Can she improve upon her 14th place ranking from last year? Look for her to go deep as sheâs reached match play every year sheâs been a part of the tournament.
Laney Frye has also reached match play over the last two years and earned medalist honors in stroke play last year.
đ¤ BIG BLUE TRIVIA
Rivalry on the way. Having played every year since 1994, the in-state matchup of Kentucky vs. Louisville is an intense gridiron rivalry. But thereâs no question that Tennessee (and their 108 matchups against us) cements them as our longest-standing football rival.
Our question todayâwhat year did the Kentucky first play Tennessee on the gridiron? (Bonus points if you remember the score!)

đľ ONE BIG THING
Know Their Names. Puerto Rico got a taste of two Kentucky incomers at the Under-20 Pan American Track and Field Championships.
Morgan Davis competed in the womenâs long jump, and her 5.99 meter jump ranked her third overall. She showed off her medal and held up the American flag to celebrate.
Miles Jones also competed with three other Americans in the menâs 400 relay. Although the team did not qualify, his experience competing against the worldâs best will help boost Kentucky this season.
