Big Blue Brew 9/16: WSoccer Make Program History

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Just Keep Winning. The women’s soccer team beat Kent State 3-1 on senior night. The team is now 8-0-0, the best start to a season in program history. Maddie Kemp, Grace Phillpotts and Sophia Mattice scored for the Cats. The women had 15 shots, with seven being on goal.

🔼 Fresh Start. The cross country team competed in the Southern Showcase this past weekend. The men finished fourth, and the women finished sixth. Collins Kiprop Kipngok led the Cats, finishing fifth overall in the 8k. Ally Kruger led the women with a 19th-place finish in the 5k.

🔼 Just One. The football team took on No. 1 Georgia and lost by just a thread, 13-12. Kentucky led the Bulldogs for the first three quarters and into the fourth. Demi Sumo-Karngbaye had a career-high 98 rushing yards and a career-high 22 carries. Alex Raynor scored all the points for the Cats with four made field goals. Overall, the team had 170 rushing yards and 114 passing yards.

🔼 Tied Up. The men’s soccer team tied Lipscomb 2-2 on Saturday. Isaiah Chisolm and Eric Onos scored for the Cats. The all-time series is now at 4-1-2 between the teams, with Kentucky leading.

🔼 Invite Only. The volleyball team competed in the SMU Doubletree Invitational and beat SMU 3-0 and lost to No. 7 Purdue 3-1. Against SMU, the Cats did not trail at any point in any of the three sets until midway through the third set. Brooklyn DeLeye, Megan Wilson and Erin Lamb all reached double figures in scoring against Purdue.
